Bill books are records of notes discounted by the bank. The information was recorded in several ways during different periods and at various banks. The information may include the date the note was discounted; note number; name of the principal; name of the person to whom the note was discounted; names of the securities; name of the drawer; name of the person to whom the note was payable; date the note was written; name of the person or account upon whom the note was drawn; term of the note; amount charged by the bank for this discount service; and generally, the name of the county of residence of the person for whom the note was discounted.
